How to invite friends and earn credit

To invite friends and earn credit, open the Referral program page in your APITube dashboard, copy your personal referral link, and share it. When someone you invited makes their first payment, you earn $25 in account credit and they get a $10 welcome credit — both added straight to your balances.

The invite itself is free and takes one click: the reward is not tied to the sign-up, it fires the moment your invitee first pays. This article walks through the steps to invite and what makes a referral pay out. For the full mechanics behind the program, see how the referral program works.

Open the Referral program page from the dashboard sidebar. The share card at the top gives you two things to spread:

  • Your referral link — a ready-to-share URL that points at the APITube site with your code attached, in the form https://apitube.io/?ref=YOUR_CODE.
  • Your code — a short human-readable code like APITUBE-X3K7QP. It deliberately avoids look-alike characters (no 0/O or 1/I/L), so you can read it aloud or write it down without mistakes.

The link and code are personal to your account — every logged-in user has their own — so the credit always comes back to you.

The share card gives you one-click ways to get the link out:

  1. Copy link — click the copy button to put your full referral URL on the clipboard, then paste it anywhere: a DM, a Slack channel, your README, or a blog post.
  2. Share via X — opens a pre-filled post with your link attached.
  3. Share via LinkedIn — opens the LinkedIn share dialog for your link.
  4. Share via Email — opens a pre-filled email with the subject and your link in the body.

You can also just hand someone your code (APITUBE-XXXXXX) verbally — anyone who opens apitube.io/?ref= with that code gets the same 30-day attribution cookie as clicking your link.

What does your friend have to do for you to earn?

Two steps on their side turn an invite into credit:

  1. Sign up through your link. When they open apitube.io/?ref=YOUR_CODE, a first-touch cookie (apitube_ref) remembers your code for 30 days. If they register within that window, the referral is attributed to you and recorded with a pending status.
  2. Make their first payment. The reward is released the first time your invitee pays. That first payment can be a plan subscription or a Pay As You Go top-up — either one counts as the conversion that pays out both rewards at once.

Until that first payment happens, the referral stays pending and no credit moves. You can watch that pipeline on the track your referrals page.

How much do you earn, and where does it go?

  • You (the referrer): $25 added to your account balance per converted invitee.
  • Your friend (the invited user): a $10 welcome credit added to their balance.

Both rewards land as account balance credit, so they spend exactly like a Pay As You Go top-up — on any API request, with any key. The reward fires once per invited customer, on their first payment; later payments by that same person do not generate more referral credit.

Common Questions

Do I earn credit when someone just signs up?

No. Signing up through your link only records the connection with a pending status — no credit is granted yet. The $25 to you and $10 to your invitee are both released the first time that person makes a payment. Until then, the referral sits in your pending pipeline.

Does a Pay As You Go top-up count as their first payment?

Yes. The conversion that releases the reward is your invitee’s first payment, whether that is a plan subscription or a Pay As You Go top-up. Both are treated as the first payment, so an invitee who tops up their balance triggers the reward the same as one who subscribes to a plan.

Yes. Your code (APITUBE-XXXXXX) is built from unambiguous characters so it survives being read aloud or typed by hand. Anyone who visits apitube.io/?ref= with your code gets the same first-touch attribution as clicking the full link, and the same 30-day window applies.

How many people can I invite?

There is no cap on invites — your code does not expire, so you can keep sharing the same link. Each person who signs up through it and makes a first payment earns you another $25. The 30-day limit applies only to the attribution cookie on each visit, not to how many people you invite.
